James Windon is an entrepreneur and investor with deep experience creating groundbreaking digital platforms in Australia and the United States.
As Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Flare, James oversees Australia’s leading pay and benefits platform, used by one in four new Australian employees.
Previously, James was the Co-Founder of Brigade, a social network for voters whose mission is to build technology that modernises democracy. Prior to Brigade, James served as President of Facebook Causes, the world’s largest platform for activism with over 200 million users.
As an investor and mentor, James has worked with dozens of technology companies locally and in the US, including through leading accelerators Tank Stream Ventures and Startmate. He has been profiled in Entrepreneur Magazine, the Washington Post and the SF Chronicle, and is a regular speaker at some of the world’s leading marketing and technology conferences, such as Cannes Lion and the Web Summit.
James holds degrees in history and law from the University of Sydney, and a Masters degree in International Trade from Georgetown University. Previously James practised law at Allens Arthur Robinson, and at the World Trade Organisation in Geneva. He lives in Sydney with his wife Clare and their two children.
